Welcome aboard the Santa Barbara Anna!
Experience maritime Tradition
SANTA BARBARA ANNA is a traditionally rigged three-mast topsail schooner. It is run by a non-profit association committed to the tall ship tradition and the preservation of historic maritime customs. The association's members are passionate about what they do and have a lot of fun doing it. Their main focus, however, is on keeping traditional seamanship alive and passing this knowledge on to future generations. A large amount of voluntary work goes into keeping the vessel seaworthy and available for others to enjoy.
Members of the public can spend one or several days aboard this historical sailing vessel, breathing the sea air and learning about our maritime heritage. The sailing trips we offer provide an insight into the tasks performed, terms used, techniques required and traditions kept on a classic tall ship. You can choose whether you just want to observe the crew as they go about their work, or to get actively involved.
Sail the Baltic Sea
From May through September, the topsail schooner SANTA BARBARA ANNA sails the Baltic Sea, passing through German, Danish, Swedish, and Polish waters. To find out about public voyages - including day trips and longer tours - see our voyage schedule.
Guest sailors are very welcome, both on our day voyages and on the trips to and from the sailing events we visit all along the Baltic coast. On longer-distance trips such as this, we can accommodate up to 12 guest sailors.
Join the crew
If you want to get involved as crew member, just get in touch with our skipper, or visit us aboard the vessel or in our office and workshop (→ Contact)! The SANTA BARBARA ANNA casts a spell it's hard to resist! No prior nautical experience is required - the crew will teach you everything you need to know. We're looking forward to working with you soon - on deck or in the rigging.
