Core crew
The core crew of SANTA BARBARA ANNA consists of volunteer women and men of all ages and professional backgrounds. Seafarers who previously worked in commercial shipping pass on their knowledge to crew members who are less familiar with sailing.
The trips offer fellow sailors and crew members the opportunity to take part in different sailing maneuvers depending on their knowledge and skills. Every helping hand finds its task: in wood and metal processing, painting and electrical work, ship operating technology, navigation, mechanics and others. If you don't like any of this manual work, you can always earn great appreciation from the crew and fellow sailors in the galley.
Do you want to join us?
Junge Leute ab 18 Jahren, ehemalige Fahrensleute im Ruhestand oder auch jegliche andere Interessenten ohne maritime Erfahrungen können sich mit dem Verein Bramschot e.V. oder Skipper Peter Mai in Verbindung setzen und einen Gesprächstermin vereinbaren. Im Winter kannst Du auch gern an Dienstagen, Donnerstagen oder Samstagen zur Werkstatt in der Werftstraße 20 kommen. Das Schiff liegt ganzjährig im Rostocker Stadthafen. Interessierte sollten nicht zögern, sich einzufinden.
Beim Arbeiten am Schiff und durch regelmäßige Schulungen kann man sich maritimes Grundwissen aneignen. Von Mai bis Oktober genießen wir dann die Früchte unserer Arbeit beim Segeln auf der Ostsee bis in dänische und schwedische Gewässer sowie bei maritimen Großereignissen wie Hanse Sail, Kieler Woche oder die Heringsdorfer Kaisertage. Ein Versuch lohnt sich – vielleicht ist es genau das, was Dir als Hobby oder Freizeitbeschäftigung gefehlt hat. Nur Mut!

Would you rather just go sailing?
In keeping with the slogan: 'You can do everything, but you don't have to' - you choose if you will be an active sailor on board or just leisurely enjoy the trip. Anyone can become a sailor. Each sailor receives an introduction to traditional seamanship and maritime customs and can take part in all sailing maneuvers.
Einzelne Mitsegler, Schul- und Jugendgruppen (bei Minderjährigen nur mit Aufsichtsperson), Familien, Vereine, Firmen, etc. … alle sind herzlich einladen!

Maintenance work
During a sailing season, wind and weather take a toll on the boat's substance! Therefore, we have our hands full - especially in winter - repairing the damage and getting the ship fit for a new season. Below we will provide insights into these activities and report on the progress of the work.
Training of the crew
Winter is not just about maintenance work on the ship. Crew training is also an important component of season preparation. On the one hand, one of the club's purposes is to pass on knowledge of traditional seamanship. But of course a well-trained crew is, above all, an important prerequisite for being able to sail the ship safely. We will also publish training plans and reports on topics covered here.
